Be part of the festive magic at The Range this season. We are currently recruiting part time Retail Assistants to help us at our busiest time of year.

In this role you will be the face of The Range delivering great service and promoting The Range as a unique one-stop shopping experience.

What we are looking for?

To be successful in this role you will love working in a fast-paced retail environment and must be willing to give the very best customer service experience to our customers.

The emphasis will be on service. This is not just a standing filling shelves type of job. If you have the personality that our customers will appreciate, and if you enjoy an environment where you can really engage with the customer, then this could be the role for you.

Your day will be varied, from delivering service with a smile at the till to engaging with customers to help them find their ideal products.

You will need to have to have a flexible approach as there will be times when you will be supporting other areas of the Store to meet the business needs.

Previous retail experience is NOT essential. We have the all the necessary support and training to get you up to speed and delivering excellent service.

Full Job Description

Customer Team Member
Location: Sovereign Street, Swinegate, Leeds, LS1 4AG
Pay: £9.90 per hour + great benefits
Contract: 30 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent, part time
Working pattern: 6am to 12pm, Monday to Friday, to be discussed at interview. Role will also include working in our in-store bakery.

You must be aged 18 or over to be a customer team member at Co-op, as it requires working before 6am or after 10pm, or involves working in one of our petrol forecourts.
As a customer team member at Co-op, you’ll provide friendly, thoughtful service, and be on hand to support customers whenever they need your help. You’ll also make sure your store is in great shape – working as part of a team to replenish products and support deliveries.

What you’ll do
• Friendly and thoughtful service – you’ll put customers first in everything you do: responding to queries, championing Co-op products and Membership, working in our in-store bakery and doing all you can to deliver a great shopping experience
  • Engage with everyone to succeed together – you’ll build strong relationships with your colleagues in-store ¬– working together as a team to solve problems for the benefit of customers and members and each other
  • Make sure the store is safe, legal and operational – you’ll complete daily checks to make sure the store is safe for our customers, and replenish products while checking their dates, prices and temperatures are legally compliant
  • Embrace change – you’ll help to embed change in store, embracing and supporting changes so they become a natural way of working, and sharing experiences with other colleagues to help them positively adapt to changes
  • Co-operate for a fairer world – you’ll get involved in day to day community activities like supporting our FoodShare scheme, and help your local member pioneer by taking part in local community events
