We have requirement for Computer Operator.
  • Computer operators oversee the running of computer systems, ensuring that the machines and computers are running properly
  • The former role of a computer operator was to work with mainframe computers which required a great deal of management day-to-day;
  • However, now they often work with a variety of different systems and applications.
  • The computer operator normally works in a server room or a data center,
  • But can also work remotely so that they can operate systems across multiple sites.
  • Most of their duties are taught on the job, as their job description will vary according to the systems and set-up they help manage.
  • The role also includes maintaining records and logging events, listing each backup that is run, each machine malfunction and program abnormal termination.
  • Operators assist system administrators and programmers in testing and debugging of new systems and programs prior to their becoming.

Computer Operations Support : Operators in this environment monitor and support mission critical IBM zSeries mainframe hardware and software. They are responsible to maintain the productivity of these systems and minimize disruptions to services.

Duties include:

  • Daily operations

a) Follow BMC procedures and documentation required for error-free execution of data center functions.
b) Initialize systems, perform IPL (Initial Program Load) of z/OS and z/VM systems.
c) Ensure all logs, check-off lists are completed and accurate to provide detailed information for continued operations and problem follow-up.
d) Notify appropriate personnel for unsuccessful completion of jobs or tasks, based on error messages and/or

documentation,

e.g. file backup jobs.
e) Perform tape management functions according to procedure.
f) Maintain and update operational procedures as needed.
g) Maintain technical knowledge to stay current in all platforms supported to meet departmental standards.
h) Able to understand and execute detailed instructions.

b) Able to recognize and resolve critical operational problems.
c) Report and document problems to the Lead Operator on duty, or technical support staff, immediately to ensure effective problem determination and resolution.

  • Schedule

a) Available to work a rotating shift which may include weekends and could also include rotating day and night shift.
b) Available to work when scheduled for on-call duty.
c) Willing to work overtime and holidays when needed or scheduled.

  • Analysis & reporting

a) Responsible for scheduling and running of periodic analytical reports as defined by Mainframe Technical Services and Computer Operations.
b) Planning and creating ad hoc analyses as needed for operational status reporting, such as incident management, systems availability, systems performance, etc. as defined by IZOT management.

Job Summary:: 

The Administrative Assistant works from home and provides programmatic, administrative and operational support to remote program located across multiple states.

Essential Functions::

  • Provide wide range of administrative support, organizational assistance, and project management to the Program Director.
  • Process, maintain and review all program personnel records.
  • Assist the Program Director in monitoring and maintaining compliance with organization, licensing, and funding source for all program departments.
  • Assist with offer management and the on boarding process to include- monitoring new hire paperwork and providing information and guidance to Southwest Key new hires.
  • Assist program with processing criminal background checks, motor vehicle reports, and drug screenings in accordance with Southwest Key’s established timelines.
  • Assist with overall purchasing, supervision and monitoring of inventory of office and computer supplies.
  • Receive and distribute program mail to appropriate parties.
  • Maintain updated program documentation as directed by Program Director.
  • Receive and respond all incoming correspondence in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • Adhere to negotiated annual budget and spending requirements.
  • Assist program with reconciliation of all business and travel-related expenses as required by SWK.
  • Complete and review documentation and timecards in Southwest Key’s timekeeping application as directed.
  • Perform other functions as assigned.

Other Functions::

  • Attend all organizational required trainings.
  • Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to.
  • Assist with collection, maintenance, and submission of data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to Program Director, appropriate parties at national headquarters and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
  • Travel as needed for trainings, conferences or other program needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of program operations
  • Develop and maintain productive relations with local, state, and federal contacts.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements::

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year secretarial/clerical/administrative experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel), variety of online database systems.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible to drive.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Cleared drug test results (Texas programs only)

Physical Demands::This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Work Environment::

This is a work from home job where high levels of self-motivation and organizational skills are needed. Employees must have a quiet, private space free of distractions in which to work at home. Ability to work a flexible work schedule is required dependent upon assigned duties. Work schedules are subject to variation and extended hours and may include weekend and holiday hours as needed to complete all job duties in a timely manner.
